A Senior Care Community With an Enormous Heart

Choosing senior care may have just become a necessary journey. Our experienced staff is available to assist you during this exciting, but often arduous process. Laurel Cove Community offers independent living, as well as a continuum of care, to meet the future needs of your loved one in our assisted living, memory care, or adult family home. Our robust recreational programs and outstanding dining experiences are thoughtfully designed to meet the social and nutritional needs of our residents.

At Laurel Cove, we recognize that aging in place is very important for your peace of mind as well as the comfort and care of your loved one. We strive to provide the highest standards of care with our exceptional nursing services led by our Administrator, Mykael Walker, RN, BSN and our Director of Nursing, Joie Burrus, LPN.

Perhaps you or your loved one are recovering from surgery or just need a short respite stay. We offer a lightly furnished studio apartment with all of the amenities of the community and supportive nursing services.
This is available on a week by week basis.

Laurel Cove Community creates a safe, secure, and comfortable environment for each resident with a plan of care tailored to individual needs. We invite you to join us for a meal, tour the Laurel Cove Community and allow us the honor of learning more about the needs of your loved one.

Happy senior resident

Our Team

Administrator Mykael Walker, RN, BSN

Mykael Walker, RN BSN, Executive Director

I have been a nurse for 15 years, with the last 7 years being in geriatric care. This is my true passion and calling. At the young age of 16, I started out as an aide and knew then and there that I would make caring for others my lifelong career and mission by becoming an RN. This community is my second home with the residents and staff being like family.

Joie Burrus—Director of Nursing, LPN

Joie Burrus, Director of Nursing Services

I have been a nurse for 10 years, and for 6 of those 10 years, I have specialized in assisted living and memory care. Nursing at Laurel Cove Community brings me many joys, with the greatest joy being that I can make a difference!

Nesrine Oulimi—Dietary Director

Nesrine Oulimi, Culinary Director

I have been in the United States for 14 years, and culinary is my passion! I have loved creating and preparing culinary masterpieces since I was 15 years old. I love everything about it! We make everything from scratch because I care about our residents and want to make them happy. They particularly like it when I start with traditional North African cuisine and tweak it with American flavors!

Anna Purevdorj—Activities Director

I was born in Mongolia, earned a Bachelors Degree in economics.  Six years ago, I moved to the United States to complete a Masters Degree in Non-Profit Corporation management. Along the way, I discovered that I am most comfortable and happy when working with senior citizens. Laurel Cove Community has given me the opportunity to interact daily in a meaningful and fun way with our wonderful residents!

At Laurel Cove Community, we believe that our success is defined by the impact we have made on other people’s lives. Over the years, we have received a lot of kind words from elders as well as their families. We’re proud to share some of the positive feedback we have received:
